Overview
The MACE-Alarm Control Unit (MACE-ACU) module includes an option to use a 32GB SD card for storing alarm history, GPS tracking data, and other files. As new alarm data is collected and stored, the MACE-ACU automatically deletes older records from the SD card to free up space for newer data.
To prevent automatic data loss, the MACE-ACU offers a private website solution to archive vehicle data such as GPS trip activity, vehicle metrics (e.g., speed, battery voltage), and alarm-triggered events. This data can be transferred to a website before its overwritten.
Creating a private website is not necessary to archive alarm data. The MACE-ACU can send alerts to the MACE Phone App (MACE-PA), notifying you that the SD card is nearing its capacity. This gives you the option to remove the SD card and copy the data before it is overwritten.
The MACE-Private Website (MACE-PWS) is not a subscription service and is not owned or operated by a company. The term “private” means the website is 100% owned and managed by you.
The MACE-PWS is designed solely for data storage and viewing purposes. It receives data from the MACE-ACU but is not configured to modify or control alarm settings or vehicle parameters. All settings and configurations for the alarm system must be managed directly through the MACE-ACU or the MACE-PA module.
Currently, the MACE Project does not provide a “done-for-you” website service. However, we offer instructional resources and free tools designed to guide individuals with no prior experience or technical skills to successfully set up their own website.
There are a few third-party costs to consider. You can expect to pay annual fees for maintaining a domain name and hosting services. These fees are generally low and cost-effective if you shop around. To assist you, the MACE Project provides an instructional video that explains how to shop for affordable services, discusses the pros and cons of different options, and offers links to providers known for competitive pricing.
